Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 : ウィキペディア英語版 | Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966
Luxembourg was represented by French singer Michèle Torr, with the song '"Ce soir je t'attendais", at the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 5 March in Luxembourg City following France Gall's victory for the Grand Duchy in the 1965 contest. The song was chosen internally by broadcaster RTL. Like Gall's winner "Poupée de cire, poupée de son", "Ce soir je t'attendais" was an extremely contemporary song, very much in tune with current trends in European pop music. Many noticed a strong similarity, particularly in the musical arrangement, between "Ce soir je t'attendais" and the Tom Jones hit "It's Not Unusual". However the song failed to live up to expectations in the contest, finishing in a relatively lowly position which came as a surprise to most observers, particularly as Torr had given a strong performance. == At Eurovision == On the night of the final Torr performed fourth in the running order, following Belgium and preceding Yugoslavia. Voting was by each national jury awarding 5-3-1 to its top 3 songs, and at the close "Ce soir je t'attendais" had picked up only 7 points (5 from Sweden and 1 each from Austria and France), placing Luxembourg joint 10th (with Germany and Finland) of the 18 entries The Luxembourgian jury awarded its 5 points to contest winners Austria.〔(ESC History - Luxembourg 1966 )〕
